…about WHAT WERE THEY THINKING: SOME PEOPLE NEVER LEARN over at CBR:
Check it out HERE to find out more about this new series from one of the greatest writers in comics.
For WHAT WERE THEY THINKING: SOME PEOPLE NEVER LEARN:
“This is a really hilarious outing for a group of writers who obviously dont take themselves too seriously. In the vein of Mystery Science Theater 3000, puns and witticisms are flying at the expense of the art, which often is just asking for it.”
A showing, in force, at EARTH 2 COMICS in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles.
See you there.” More details HERE.
“Unfortunately, as hilarious as the Remix comics can be, they’re more easily a shabby miss than a hit. Even Tim O’Neil lost the magic touch after a while, and Marvel’s Romance comics attempts haven’t been that giggle-worthy. I’m happy to report that ‘Some people never learn’ comes to remind us how these remix comics should be done. Giffen’s opening story in particular is a laugh riot, as I haven’t laughed so much and for so long while reading a comic before.”
about WHAT WERE THEY THINKING, SOME PEOPLE NEVER LEARN:
STEPHANIE MANGOLD, aka the BATTLESTAR KITTEN, says over at Silver Bullet Comics the store:
“it’s an immense amount of fun to read. WWTT couldn’t possibly have a better cast of characters, writers that is, to breathe new life into these Golden and Silver Age Comics – their humor just melds effortlessly into the books they’ve adapted.
JOHANNA DRAPER CARLSON does a retrospective on BOOM! at Comics Worth Reading, and says some very nice things:
“I’m rather impressed by Boom! Studios‘ success. They’ve developed a couple of clearly understandable niches  more on that later  and they’re not aiming for more growth than they can handle. When they launch titles, they do so with focus, one at a time, instead of scatter-gunning the market. Their books have recognizable names doing good work and are well-reviewed (and they support the press nicely).
“Boom! books have been selling out as word spreads, but they don’t crow about disappointing customers (because that’s what sellouts ultimately mean). Sources as diverse as Publishers Weekly and Wizard have praised their business attitudes and strategies.”
Thanks for the kind words, Johanna!
I don’t know if we’ve mentioned that WHAT WERE THEY THINKING: SOME PEOPLE NEVER LEARN is coming out Wednesday, but we’ll say it again: WEDNESDAY!!
From CINESCAPE’s comics section: “If you’ve ever wanted to see Hitler ask someone to pull his finger, this is your book.”
